Highlight victory from Donnie:

Cebu, Philippines. Filipino WBO champion is now eager to making history not only for the Philippines but for the whole world agains Mexican challenger Carlos "Chapito" Velarde is confident that he can make his own history against undisputed World Boxing Organization light flyweight champion "Ahas" Nietes of the Philippines in their coming title-fight in the Pinoy Pride 28 this Saturday night at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino in Cebu City. This gonna be exciting fight for this year of Pinoy Pride.

Pinoy Pride 28 is supported by ALA Boxing Gym, Waterfront Cebu City and Casino, Ayala Center Cebu, Islands Souvenirs, Islands Pasalubong, 3 Coins Advertising, St. Mark hotel, Rajah Park Hotel, Gaisano Mall, Isuzu Cebu, Robinson's Fuente, Natural 106.7, city government of Cebu, Fungisol, Insular Square, Cebu Daily News and The Freeman.

Donnie Nietes sounded a confident man on the verge of making history when he defends his World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior flyweight title for the final time Saturday night against Mexican challenger Carlos Velarde at the Waterfront Hotel.

All the Filipino world champion did was give the Mexican a dagger look during their faceoff at the weigh-in of Pinoy Pride XXVIII to remind the challenger what he’s up against.

Nietes has beaten nine of Velarde’s countrymen in the ring, three of them right at their home turf, and owns a 25-win streak that includes four title defenses each in a seven-year reign in the strawweight and junior flyweight divisions.

Nietes expectedly made the weight limit at 107 1/2 lbs during Friday’s Pinoy Pride 28 weigh-in at Robinson’s Fuente, the second-to-last obstacle in his quest to break Gabriel “Flash” Elorde’s record of being the longest Filipino champion of all-time.

The 32-year-old boxer, a product of ALA Boxing since 2001, sees no reason that he will prevail in his fifth defense of the belt before his impending move to the 112-lb division in 2015.

Donnie 'Ahas' Nietes (33-1-4, 19KO), cool as a cucumber, will have another day in the office against a highly motivated Mexican challenger in Carlos 'Chapito' Velarde, not showing any signs of pressure where he is about to break Elorde's long standing record as the longest reigning Filipino world champion. Nietes, 32, world champion since April 21, 2007, will have all the respect and adulation he fully deserves when he climbs the ring tonight.

Milan 'El Metodico' Melindo (31-1-0, 12KO) failed to win a world title in his try against against Mexican elite Juan Francisco Estrada last year in Macau but vows to pursue another one quickly. He will face Mexican speedster Saul 'Baby' Juarez (20-3-0, 11KO) for the IBF junior flyweight eliminator.

Merlito 'Tiger' Sabillo (23-1-1, 12KO) who won the WBO minimumweight world title over Luis de la Rosa in Columbia in March last year and lost it to Mexico's Francisco Rodriguez in March this year, will try to position himself back to regain the title he lost to Rodriguez by facing Faris Nenggo (8-6-3, 2KO) in a 8 round minimumweight contest.

AJ 'Bazooka' Banal (31-2-1, 22KO) who failed to win a world title in two tries, will try to remain relevant and stoke the fires of his legion of followers when he faces Maxsaisai Sithsaithong (15-5-3, 4KO) of Thailand in a 8 round non-title super bantamweight bout.

Nietes, Melindo, Sabillo and Banal previously headlined the Pinoy Pride series individually.

'Prince' Albert Pagara (21-0-0, 15KO) , the crowd-pleasing younger brother of Jason Pagara, will try to build momentum to his undefeated record when he trade leathers with Mexico's Raul Hirales (22-3-0, 11KO) as he defends his IBF Inter-Continental super bantamweight title and stay on course for a possible world title shot.

Multi-titled amateur Mark 'Magnifico' Magsayo (8-0-0, 6KO) who, with his speed, skills and power, has the potential to take the Philippines by storm, will face Korean trial-horse Moon-Sun Jung (2-3-3) in a 6-round featherweight contest.

The undefeated Albert "Prince" Pagara (21 wins, 15 KOs, 0 L, 0 D) will be defending his IBF Inter-continental jr. featherweight title against Raul Hirales (22 wins, 11 KOs, 3 loses, 1 draw) of Mexico (12 rds.-122 lbs.) while Current WBO Inter-continental flyweight champion Milan "El Metodico" Melindo (31 wins, 12 KOs, 1 loss) takes on Saul "Baby" Juarez (20 wins, 11 KOs, 3 loses) of Mexico in an IBF jr. flyweight eliminator (12 rds.-108 lbs).
Former WBO world minimumweight champion Merlito "Tiger" Sabillo (23 wins, 12 KOs, 1 loss, 1 draw) faces Faris Nenggco (8 wins, 2 KOs, 6 loses, 3 draws) of Indonesia (8 rds.-107 lbs.), AJ "Bazooka" Banal (31 wins, 22 KOs, 2 loses, 1 draw) takes on Maxsaisai Sithsaithong (15 wins, 4 KOs, 5 loses) of Thailand (8 rds.-124 lbs.).

Jomar "Wallopman" Fajardo (14 wins, 7 KOs, 5 loses, 1 draw) vs. Francisco "Chihuas" Rodriguez (16 wins, 11 KOs, 2 loses) of Mexico (10 rds.-110 lbs.), Mark "Manifico" Magsayo of Tagbilaran vs. Moon-Sun Jung of South Korea (6 rds.-126 lbs.), Polid Banal of Cebu vs. Ritchen Rosales of Bohol (4 rds.-115 lbs.), Virgel Vitor of Tagbilaran vs. Jovane Abejero of Bohol (4 rds.-118 lbs.), Gerard Suico of Mandaue vs. Fritz Cabilla of Bohol (4 rds.-112 lbs.).

At the moment no opponents have been selected for the 4 Filipino fighters though it's expected to be Nietes's final fight at Light Flyweight and will be a show used to celebrate the 7th anniversary of his career defining victory over Thailand's Pornsawan Porpramook, a win that first saw Nietes becoming a world champion.

This post is under Pinoy Pride 28 of the ALA Boxing Association of Pinoy Pride series. Semerad vs Alonzo in tussle of GlobalPort-Kia GAME

Watch the Semerad, Alonzo in tussle during GlobalPort-Kia Game.

Roll out the welcoming mat, kick away the sneakers and just go at it.

In what seemed as a physical contest from the start, one player just put the emphasis on the word “physical.”

Richard Alonzo of Kia Sorento and Anthony Semerad of GlobalPort Batang Pier figured in a pushing match during a loose ball situation. In a physical altercation, the two players ended on the floor with Alonzo launching several elbows and a punch or two on rookie Semerad with 48.7 seconds left in the first quarter.

Orlando Salido vs Terdsak Kokietgym

Orlando Salido vs. Terdsak Kokietgym for the interim WBO World super featherweight title this September 20, 2014 at Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutiérrez Moreno, Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico scheduled for 12 rounds. Watch the fight.

FIGHT UPDATE: Orlando Salido defeated Terdsak Kokietgym via 11th round TKO.

Salido is good fighter but the Thai Kokietgym is a tough fighter and a hard to beat. What do you think about the fight?

WBO interim super featherweight title will bring Thai veteran Terdsak Kokietgym (53-4-1, 33 KO) to Mexico to take on hard-boiled Mexican contender Orlando Salido (41-12-2, 28 KO).

I always work hard, and can compete with everyone in my weight class. They say it’s easy to get to the top, but to maintain yourself and stay there is the hard part. For me, to still be at this level after all of this time, it’s a reflection of my hard work. I spent a long time grinding to make featherweight; now I’m going to push even harder to prove I’m the best (130 lb.) fighter in the world.

Salido is coming off a huge win over highly touted amateur-turned-pro Vasyl Lomachenko in his last fight. Though he has a healthy amount of losses on his record, you won't find many fighters in the lower weight regions as tough as Salido.

The fight will take place at Auditorio Municipal Fausto Gutierrez Moreno in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, so there's no question which fighter will be the fans' favorite.

Yhis should be an excellent, all-action fight. Both men like to bang away on the inside, and between them, they have 61 knockouts.

The bout should be fought in a phone booth where both men will have their moments. If an opponent stands in front of Salido, the grizzled veteran has the defense, chin and punching accuracy to make it tough on him.

Salido is the classic Mexican boxer. He's tough as nails, and he likes to come forward and slug and do his damage on the inside.

It's difficult to imagine Kokietgym coming away with a decision victory; then again, both of these men like to throw punches. The judges' cards may not come into play. Either way, it should be an exciting scrap.

Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Marcos Rene Maidana 2

The Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Marcos Rene Maidana 2 is for the WBC welterweight title, WBA Super World welterweight title, and WBC light middleweight title this September 5, 2014 at MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

FIGHT UPDATE: Mayweather wins via UD!

Here's the complete cards of the fight.

  • Floyd Mayweather Jr vs. Marcos Rene Maidana
  • Leo Santa Cruz vs. Manuel Roman
  • Miguel Vazquez vs. Mickey Bey
  • Humberto Soto vs. John Molina
  • Alfredo Angulo vs. James De la Rosa

Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - Mayweather (46-0, 26 KO) and Maidana (35-4, 31 KO) first met in May, of course, with Mayweather taking a competitive majority decision victory. There was just enough talk and controversy (or something like it) for them to do it again. This time, though the limit is the standard welterweight cap of 147 pounds, Floyd will be defending not only his WBC and WBA welterweight titles, but also the WBC junior middleweight title, as the sanctioning body gave him permission to put both on the line. This is the second time where Mayweather will be defending his belt against the tough Argentinian Maidana.

In the first encounter, Maidana gave Mayweather a tough fight. Will Maidana able to pull up a huge upset over Mayweather? What do you think? Some thought that Mayweather is gonna regret this rematch maidana almost won the first fight it was a tie but mayweather got the last decision I bet those judges were paid though to make sure mayweather didn't lose ! I wouldn't be suprised if boxing is riged he's never lost a fight that's bs yea he fights boxers out there prime that's prob why but when I comes to the last vote he wins? I think Mayweather will be the one to win this second fight.

One of the fans also said that the Revenge of Marcos Maidana will make Floyd Mayweather bleed, hurt and fall. The first fight was close, I had it scored 7-5 in favor for Maidana but Boxing is subjective and even though Floyd won by decision, he did not win in the minds of all. Maidana clearly made Floyd look like a frantic person being attacked by a swarm of killer bees during the first half of the first fight but to say that Chino didn't win at least two rounds in the 2nd part of the fight is preposterous and the rematch reflects on this truth. Floyd is the P4P champ of the world but Maidana went toe "2" toe and for 12 rounds with the Champ and Chino is still standing right in front of him ready for part deuce of this Boxing story of the Dukes who will duke it out like men at war when the time comes calling. Hard work and dedication has been the key for Floyd's success but after the Maidana Malay, Floyd might need a new set of keys to get this engine started. It is really a tough to judge their second fight until they will step into the ring this September 13, 2014.

The fight will be the second fight around. I respect maidana as a fighter but i don't like his trainer in the first fight he wasn't that bad he just kept tryna hype maidana up as some gangster but now he's really talkin shit to floyd like even if you really believe maidana is a better fighter you still can't say maidana's trainer would have any form of a shot against floyd and I didn't see the first fight but now hearing maidana's trainer say to fight dirty is honestly despicable. What do you think who emerge victorious for the fight?

I think Mayweather under estimated him in the last fight floyd did not look like floyd in that fight so I can see Mayweather winning this easily but then again maybe age has finally caught Mayweather up. AMAZING! Floyd Money Mayweather proves to all his doubters that he just as skillful when it comes to boxing toe-to-toe aside from stick'n'moving. Just take a look at the sparring. Mayweather completely OBLITERATED his sparring partner who is bigger than Madonna. Its astonishing to see a guy of Mayweather's size, unleash several powerful hayemakers at 9:45 on a guy that big. No mercy was shown whatsoever. Look at all that blood. Mayweather is a SAVAGE. BEASTMODE.. It also goes unnoticed that Mayweather trains like a WARRIOR. HARDWORK, DEDICATION. Look the intensity of his training compared to Madonna. Madonna's entire training is a warm-up for Floyd Money Mayweather. EASYWORK. Man, this time around Floyd is out to DEMOLISH this BUM once and for all. Madonna is going to get put in a bodybag after the fight. R.I.P. . Madonna is a complete hypejob while Floyd remains as the G.O.A.T. Floyd Mayweather is INDESTRUCTIBLE. 47-0 TBE! This would be a good match up for the fight.

Let's get started for the Mayweather-Maidana 2 fight including the live round by round updates and many others in this post.

Rey “BoomBoom” Bautista will continue to campaign as a superfeatherweight when he squares off against another Mexican, Juan Jose Martinez.

One of the Filipino prospect, “King” Arthur Villanueva will dispute the vacant IBF International jr.bantamweight title against Nicaragua’s Henry Maldonado. ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN will be staging more fight cards in the Middle East. ALA Pres and CEO Michael Aldeguer said that “We're looking for bigger shows next year. We’ll put up shows also in Abu Dhabi and Qatar.” Yeah, it will be happn in the next few hours of boxing.

Before anything else, we should witness the reigning WBO intercontinental super bantam weight champion and WBO Asia Pacific “Fighter of the Year” Genesis “Azukal” Servania defend his belt against the Mexican former two-time world title challenger Jose “Matador” Cabrera.
Catch the action LIVE at the Dubai World Trade Center Zabeel 3 on September 5, 2014 Friday. Gates open at 5pm. Servania is undefeated, Villanueva is undefeated, and Boom-Boom is coming off a win in his last comeback fight. We'll see if Servania will still be undefeated and let's say Villanueva still be undefeated in this fight.

Meanwhile, the Pride of Candijay, Bohol - Boom Bautista is back on track in his winning streak, as possible. Seeing action in the supporting main event is Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista (35-3, 25KOs) against Mexican Juan Jose “Piquet” Martinez (19-1, 15KOs) in a non-title bout scheduled for 10 rounds.

In the interview, "This was something that we really wanted when we launched Pinoy Pride, that we would go international,” said ALA CEO Michael Aldeguer. “Filipinos here, they’re really excited for events like this.” “This was a dream a year ago but we’ve finally reached this point,” said ABS-CBN sports consultant Peter Musngi. We'll said in the interview. Expect that all the fighters in the Pinoy Pride 27 will deliver a good fight and show the fans that are worthy of a fighter to look for seeing in action - a back and forth battle that should be seen. Let's go Pinoy Pride XXVII!
